#RPGaDAY2025 DAY 2: PROMPT

This is the second day of #RPGaDAY2025 and the prompt today is amusingly the word prompt. Which meaning of prompt will be the prompt you use to inspire your post today, Dear Reader? I will be using to prompt as my definition for prompt, though being prompt also appealed.

Day 2: Prompt
Yesterday, the prompt was Patron, and the basic outward personality of a patron, his name, and his generally-known capabilities were established – subject to change at this point. As we go through the month, more of this will be given shape and detail by the other factors which contribute to this campaign pitch.
Given what sort of person our patron is, the sort of prompt which would force him away from solitary R&D into things we were not meant to know is the sort which has someone or some group actively doing things we were not meant to do. In this case, the rules of the game give us something thematic that can spark some self-reflection and doubt. Our patron has dedicated himself to scientific means to create artificial life and intelligence via mechanisms and metal. What stirs him to recruit the characters for action is that same quest mirrored in dead flesh.
To be more specific, people of every age and description have been disappearing from graves and mortuaries, and now, suspicion is flaring that living specimens are being snatched from streets, homes, and places of secluded protection. The need to stop this inhuman and inhumane experimentation, combined with the need to know what villain is behind it all, prompts the patron, Roald Neslinger, into action.
Two sides of the same dubious coin: control and use of the spark of life.
See you tomorrow for Day 3: Tavern!
