Casting Shadows

This page is the archive for Serial Setting #1 which was a year-long endeavor presenting weekly posts each of which detailed a different aspect of a tropical island in the Pacific suitable for use with 30’s era Pulp Games, specifically Hollow Earth Expedition and Daring Tales of Adventure.

The end goal of this project is to release a pdf of the compiled contents for busy GMs looking for a detailed setting with lots of plot hooks, story ideas, and entry points for new and experienced characters and players.

As initially released, the entries typically contained a description of a place, facility, or event in daily life among residents of the Windlet Island Chain, with an accompanying description of a typical NPC related to the theme of the entry. These NPCs were usually presented with a set of rumors which characters might encounter as they make their way around the islands.

At this time, no maps or other artwork are available for this project. If you are interested in contributing to the project in an artistic vein, please let me know.
