#RPGaDay2023 Day 3

This is an easy one. Let’s see if we can keep it brief. I know, what are the odds?

Day 3: First RPG BOUGHT (this year)
I am going to go with three firsts for this entry. The first first among the firsts is the first RPG bought this year. This is different than the first RPG received this year from a purchase in 2022. When I sat down to type this entry, I figured it would be The Rivers of London RPG, or Blade Runner, but it turned out to be Outgunned by Two Little Mice. Outgunned is an expansion and update of the incredible Broken Compass RPG by the same creative team.
Quick Rules Tip!
You can make your response in ways other than text or audio/video. You can share an illustration, a comic, act out a scene, compose a lyric, song, or interpretive dance, communicate through a soulful gaze, or whatever else works for your message. You are a shaper of worlds and explorer of dreams. What is there that you cannot do?
The second first is the first solo RPG that I have ever bought. That is Rectify by Hansor Publishing, and it is a very recent and yet pending acquisition as the Kickstarter project for it has just ended. Like all good Kickstarter projects, the game is complete and simply needs to be printed and shipped. If you like horror and like to be surprised by what a game asks of you, I think you should explore it.
The final first is the first game that I bought. That has multiple answers, too. I bought AD&D and some of the BECMI books (Master and Immortal) little by little over my last year of high school in a used bookstore that briefly sprang into existence during the winter and vanished just before graduation. I just do not really think of those as my first RPG purchases, though. I bought them because that is what we were playing, and I was hungry to know more and be able to read them on my own time. The first RPGs that I saw in a store and wanted to buy, read, and share with others like they had shared D&D with me were Call of Cthulhu and Palladium Fantasy, but we have spoken of this before for RPGaDay.
So tell me, was this brief?

I’m jist starting to make my way through Outgunned. There’s stuff I like, and stuff that I think BC did better. I’ll have to kick the tires on it and see what the daughter thinks; BC is her favorite rules system, right now.
We are in the same boat. I imagine I will use both~
