RPGaDay – In Preparation for 2019

#RPGaDay is returning for its sixth year, but in a whole new way that embraces the flexibility and creativity that make roleplaying games great.

The Infographic

Share this wherever people discuss roleplaying games~

Each day in August, RPGaDay invites gamers to share a positive example of the fun of RPGs. This year, the prompts have been presented as single word entries that participants can work with in any way that inspires them, both in terms of content and in terms of form. In the past most responses have been Tweets, YouTube videos, and Facebook comments. This does not begin to address all the different ways that gamers experience and express their creativity. The prompts invite participants to respond to them in any creative and positive way that suits and inspires them. Write, Draw, Act, Design, Dance, Compose, or… whatever comes to mind!

Despite a terribly busy schedule doing paid graphic design work on some very important projects, Will Brooks has returned to completely redesign the infographic and make my dreams of a randomized approach combined with a dice drop table come true. It makes me smile just to look at it~

Translations

We are pleased to see that #RPGaDAY supporters around the world have been translating the prompts. This year in particular translation is a challenge as the words in use are expected to be ambiguous and that ambiguity might not be reflected in all languages equally or at all. As a result, we are especially grateful to those who have undertaken the challenge, and we also ask those who participate to be creative and open-minded when surveying the translations.

Roberto “Sunglar” Micheri has once again given us a version of the prompts in Spanish. Sébastien “Nolinquisitor” Allard has returned for another year to provide an insight into the prompts for French-speaking gamers. Michael Jaegars has also returned with a version offered in German. A translation for speakers of Danish has been provided by Morten Greis.
