For the 12th Day of #RPGaDAY2024 the standard prompt asks us to share our thoughts on published campaigns we think have good support which makes them easier to run and play in, or perhaps we might take the time to praise a person in our group who makes their own and likewise provides good support for exploring those long-form endeavors of play. Don’t forget that we can also just take the words in bold and run with those, we could instead use the alternate prompt under the Day 31 listing, or we could hop over the alternate list of randomizable prompts to find inspiration. If nothing else, I hope you will agree, RPGaDAY itself is an RPG-related activity that is well-supported.
As a long-term Call of Cthulhu player, it is hard not to look at the ground-breaking approach taken by the campaigns from Chaosium for the game. Better yet, so inspirational has this been it has inspired Arc Dream to carry on the tradition in their approach to campaigns published for Delta Green, and Pelgrane for campaigns published for Trail of Cthulhu. It’s a lasting legacy that can reach a lot of gamers. On top of that, these things have inspired companies like the HPLHS to create unbelievable props for these campaigns, making it possible to blend and blur the lines between reality and unreality for fun and imagination.
