#RPGaDAY: Day 25 – Familiarity (Emotion; Grace; Space: 1999)

This is the 25th day of #RPGaDay2026. It’s a Tuesday, and today is the first day of the final 7 days of the event. This version of the event was mainly keyed to memories of or thoughts about people, either characters or fellow players, and this final week digs into some rich veins for that perspective. Whether we have been using the prompts to talk about general RPG things, demonstrating one or more specific RPGs, sharing character creation, or inspiring some kind of art, all of the prompts are about the experiences which arise from playing these amazing games and interacting with the amazing people who play them. This week’s filter for considering the prompts is Emotion. Today’s child is full of Grace so that is our daily filter. Our prompt for the day is Familiarity.

#RPGaDAY: Day 24 – Distance (Emotion; Fair; Space 1999)

This is the 24th day of #RPGaDay2026 and when I looked last night the Moon was still with us, but for the purposes before us this “Emotional” week we will have to accept the notion that a terrible accident on the far side of the Moon has propelled our beloved satellite on a course away from us and on into a galaxy of adventure – and a lot of peril. With that odd notion accepted, we are ready to embrace a licensed RPG which is as willing to address physical heroism as it is psychological pressure – Space: 1999. Today’s look at the Space: 1999 RPG, an application by Modiphius of 2D20 to the dramatic 70s SFTV series by Anderson Entertainment, uses the very appropriate prompt ‘Distance’ and our daily filter, this being Monday, is of course, Fair of Face.
