Casting Shadows

Hot on the heels of triumph comes calamity for today’s #RPGaDay prompt, much like real life. Whether part of a chain of events or merely coincidence suggesting causation to the perceptions of those involved, calamity, disaster, and tragedy have a way of being in the neighborhood after we hit a high point. The wheel goes around, the tide ebbs and flows.

Calamity, for all its faults does have a ring of playfulness to it, though. At least to modern ears there is the hint of the Trickster in calamity which other turns of ill luck scrupulously avoid.
