Casting Shadows

Our license to explore our philosophies and the vast and varied hobby of roleplaying games hits warp speed for the weekend as we receive the prompt of ‘engage’. Launched initially by Dave Chapman from his Autocratik blog, and each year given form and functionality via the graphic design talents of Will Brooks, #RPGaDay has become a staple of my small contributions to exploration of the roleplaying hobby through stewardship, either on my own or in partnership with Dave, of how it gets expressed each year. While each year has had something to be proud of from that standpoint, and something to be mystified by, this year tops them all~

My video for today takes the prompt and turns it toward our relationships with the other members of our gaming groups, and to the contributions each of those members makes to the fabric and fiction of the game as it manifests at the table. The game beyond the game, the game of sharing just enough, hiding the right things, connecting and interacting at the right time and in the right ways so that the cycle of temptation and revelation builds friendships and heightens engagement~
