#RPGaDAY: Day 23 – Fortune (Instinct; Blessed; All for One)

This is the 23rd day of #RPGaDay2026 and the 4th of 5 Sundays in the event this year. Sunday’s child gets a full allotment of good stuff according to the predictive poem of periods past, so let’s plaster this particular post with positivity like no other. Our prompt for today is Fortune. It’s another flexible prompt which can take us in different directions from luck to wealth and from past to future. This is our last day to take the idea of Instinct into consideration, and it is our final day of enjoying memories past and yet to come with All for One: Regime Diabolique.

In life, as it turns out, there is a significant amount of time expended on the changing of fortune – either one’s own or someone else’s. This can be for reasons fair or foul, of course. In our games, this tends to be the case as well, unless a certain gameshow host is involved.
One of the more dramatic character write-ups in the core rules of All for One: Regime Diabolique is that of the Hero-in-Training. Wiggy, the author, opens up with the line, “I was born nobody,” takes us through suffering and growing futility, then through a twist of fate, staying true to instinct, and commitment, to end with, “I will die somebody.”
Fortune favors the prepared. It’s not enough to meet Sir Ector, for example. If you are lucky enough to make his acquaintance, you must be prepared to learn, courageous enough to take the risk, have most of your teeth, be unashamed of your current muscular development, and above all, have spirit.
It doesn’t hurt to have a loving family to give you a gentle push in the right direction.

Tomorrow’s prompt for #RPGaDAY2026 begins this final full week of the event with ‘Distance.’ Our new weekly filter changes to Emotion. It’s an ideal combination for the game I have selected to share and enjoy from Monday, August 24th to Sunday, August 30th.

See you tomorrow!
